About Kenosis:

Kenosis Foundation (KF) is a grass roots organization based in southern India that has been improving the lives of those in need for several years now. This is all thanks to the devoted effort of founder Issac Rayapan and hard working volunteers from all over the world that have participated in the grow of The Kenosis Foundation. Since being registered (Reg No: 166/2013-2014) as a non-profit in 2013, KF has focused on the needs of women, both young and old. Volunteers must apply 2 - 3 months in advance in order to have enough time to get your visa processed.  The visa process is lengthy and can take up to 1 -2 months. Secondly, as a host organization we need enough time to organize and facilitate your project. This allows us to organize board and lodging so we may provide you with a comfortable stay.

A Pre-Departure Kit providing project details are sent following registration. Before work starts a weeklong orientation and training is provided to volunteers featuring information about Indian culture. The volunteer fee includes transport from the airport, food, accomidations, local in-country team providing 24hr emergency support, orientation and training on project and Indian culture.

Our minimum requirement is that you speak basic English and have a high level of independence and emotional strength. If  you are 17 years old or younger you require a letter of consent from a parent or guardian (as mentioned above). We also ask that you are motivated to work with women and children. Lastly it is important that you recieve iImmunizations (please consult your local travel clinic), have a phot-copy of your passport and Visa and Police clearance. You are required to pay for your flight to Bangalore, Visa, Travel insurance etc.

Our host families come from urban to semi-rural areas and from different socioeconomic backgrounds. In all cases, host families are carefully selected and trained by Kenosis. We match volunteers with host families, ensuring a truly immersive experience in Indian culture. If you need individual rooms, you may have to pay at least or above 35 USD to 60 USD a day. This covers only your accommodation. So, we Kenosis work within affordable cost and provide best services, while you are with us. Staying in a hotel or apartment is not a ideal thing to do while you are abroad, when you volunteering for a cause.  Yet, and if you still wish to stay in a hotel or individual rooms, please mention in your application form when you apply. The cost of staying in hotel and individual rooms as on the date  and actual cost of the service provider/ local vendors. We will let you know the cost in advance, when you confirm your placement with us. In this case,  the prices mentioned on our website is not applicable for you. It's a different quote altogether.

Our volunteering and internship programs are not exclusively offered to university students on vacation or looking for credit programs, we also accept volunteers from different backgrounds and professions. We work with volunteers from any profession or non-professional background, backpackers, and tourists.
